ARTIST NOTES
Dysmorphic is an introspective series that aims to capture the silent and self-confrontational experiences many of us have faced throughout our lives due to our own self-perceived limitations and flaws. Aspects of our identities that may be unseen, irrelevant, or small by others may sometimes feel like a roaring siren to our internal self and ego.
Many of us have experienced extenuated points of time where self-perceived aspects of our bodies, minds, emotions, and thoughts leave us feeling paralyzed, debilitated, and confused - in such a way that can only be described as being a prisoner trapped within one's own body. In these periods, we may often find ourselves embattled within a spectrum of angst, anger, loneliness, depression, and repugnance.
Dysmorphic, the series, aims to capture the vulnerabilities of these deeply personal experiences in a way that confronts and magnifies these all-consuming states of existence. The result is an homage to personal preoccupation and the intermittent obsession one can share with one's mind. This series brings to fruition an array of behavioral and psychological focal points in a sequential manner - detailing a spectrum of intimate patterns of broad-range manifestation.
